About Soup

What is a Soup Project? Inspired by the likes of Detroit Soup – Soup projects are crowd-funding events of which attendees pay a small entrance fee, in return for a bowl of soup, a chance to hear inspiring talks from local good causes and a chance to vote for your favourite project.

The social funding event aims to support local causes by giving you the chance to decide who will get the prize fund. Four local causes will pitch their ideas to you, the audience in hopes that they will receive the most votes and collect the prize fund. The short pitches must be interactive (no PowerPoint slides allowed!), although pitchers can use props, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions at the end. Any profit raised from ticket sales of this event will be given to the winning cause as chosen by the audience.

There are already various successful soup projects helping good causes to fund their projects within other cities in the UK such as Sheffield, Brighton and Glasgow, so we are excited to be a part of the Soup movement by hosting Swansea’s first Soup event.
